Casey Anthony Trial’s Surprise: Defense Attorney Jose Baez Claims Caylee Died of Accidental Drowning in the Anthony backyard pool on June 16, 2008, wow this is sure a whopper!
Most criminal defense attorneys do distort the truth; Critics of the defense bar charge that when a defendant is guilty, lawyers do everything in their power to prevent the truth from coming out, that is their job!
Casey Anthony’s criminal defense attorney Jose Baez paints bizarre lifestyle of Anthony family, keep in mind criminal defense attorney’s are paid to distort, are paid to create realistic or even unrealistic scenarios’s to get their clients off.
Criminal defense attorney’s are NOT liable for anything they say in the court room, anything! Criminal defense attorney’s are protected with immunity for any statements made in connection with a judicial proceeding, their statements, no matter how outrageous, are not actionable!
Caylee was last seen on June 16, 2008. One of the grandparents’ neighbors, Brian Burner, testified today May 25th, that Casey Anthony asked him June 18 2008 if she could borrow a shovel to “dig up a bamboo root.” She returned the shovel about an hour later, he said. Burner also said he remembered seeing Anthony’s white car backed into the garage on the afternoon of June 16 2008.
About a month before that, in May of 2008, Casey Anthony met Tony Lazaro during a party. They soon became romantically involved and she moved into an apartment he was sharing with four other people. Her ex-roommates testified that they met Anthony’s daughter several times and then at some point in early June 2008, they never saw Caylee Anthony again.

The 1998 white Pontiac that Casey Anthony had been driving when Caylee Anthony went missing was abandoned on June 27th, 2008 and was towed to a wrecking yard where it stayed until July 15th 2008, when the trunk was opened in front of witness’s
June 27…Casey Anthony leaves the car she has been driving (owned by her parents), a 1998 white Pontiac with Florida tag G63XV, in the parking lot of an Amscot Financial store at Colonial Drive and Goldenrod in Orlando Fl.
June 30, 2008…Statement of Simon Birch– Facility manager of the wrecking yard (Johnson’s Wrecker East) where the car Casey Anthony had been driving was towed on June 30, 2008. After the car had been there a couple of weeks, Simon Birch approached it and began to smell a foul odor. At the time, he did not pay further attention to the white 1998 Pontiac.

As they walked, George Anthony mentioned that his daughter had been missing and that she would not allow him to see his granddaughter and has told several lies. When George opened the door of the car, a very foul odor came from inside. Mr. Birch recognized it as the same odor as had been in a car in which a man had committed suicide (his body had been in the car for about 5 days). When Mr. Birch said, “That’s rotten,” George did not reply.
They opened the trunk in order to locate the source of the odor (flies flew out) and found a garbage bag, which Mr. Birch opened. Papers, a pizza box and maggots were in the bag. Mr. Birch threw the bag over a fence into the tow lot’s dumpster. George noticed the fuel gauge read empty and said he had a gas can in his car. He retrieved the gas can, apologized for his wife being upset, poured gas into the Pontiac and drove away.
July 3rd, 2008….Casey’s mother, Cindy Anthony, posts the following message* to her MySpace blog:
Subject: My Caylee is missing
Current mood: Distraught
“She came into my life unexspectedly (Caylee), just as she has left me. This precious little angel from above gave me strength and unconditional love. Now she is gone and I don’t know why. All I am guilty of is loving her and providing her a safe home. Jealousy has taken her away. Jealousy from the one person that should be thankfull for all of the love and support given to her (Casey) . A mother’s love is deep, however there are limits when one is betrayed by the one she loved and trusted the most (Casey). A daughter comes to her mother for support when she is pregnant, the mother says without hesitation it will be ok. And it was. But then the lies and betrayal began (Casey).
First it seemed harmless, ah, love is blind. A mother will look for the good in her child and give them a chance to change. This mother gave chance after chance for her daughter to change (Casey), but instead more lies more betrayal. What does the mother get for giving her daughter all of these chances? A broken heart. The daughter who stole money (Casey), lots of money, leaves without warning and does not let her mother now speak to the baby that her mother raised, fed, clothed, sheltered, paid her medical bills, etc. Instead tells her friends that her mother is controlling her life and she (Casey) needs her space. No money, no future. Where did she go? Who is now watching out for the little angel (Caylee)?”
July 4 – Casey Anthony allegedly spends the day partying and hanging out with friends.
