May 12th, 2016…..The people are speaking, right now Donald Trump has gathered 10,700,000 votes in the 2016 GOP primaries with nine contests (including California) left. Donald Trump may well end up with the most GOP Primary votes for President in history. Right now the record is the 2000 GOP Primary where George W. Bush got 11,877,869 votes. I expect Mr Trump to top out at 13,000,000 million, deal with it.

In the 2012 Republican Primaries Mitt Romney topped out with 10,031,336 popular votes which led to the nomination of Mitt Romney as the Republican nominee for President of the United States

In the 2008 Republican Primaries Senator John McCain of Arizona topped out with 9,902,797 popular votes and was selected as the nominee through a series of primary elections and caucuses culminating in the 2008 Republican National Convention.

In the 2000 Republican Primaries Georg W. Bush got 11,877,869 popular votes and was selected as the nominee through a series of primary elections and caucuses culminating in the 2000 Republican National Convention.

In the 1996 Republican Primaries former Senator Bob Dole of Kansas and former Senate Majority Leader got 9,024,742 popular votes and was selected as the nominee through a series of primary elections and caucuses culminating in the 1996 Republican National Convention.
