Sydney Lindt Cafe Siege Over: Muslim Terrorist Sheikh Man Haron Monis Shot Dead by Aussie Anti-Terror Cops Numerous Hostages Shot. Heavily armed police have stormed a cafe in Sydney where a gunman identified as an Iranian refugee has been holding dozens of people hostage. Muslim Hostage-taker Man Haron Monis killed one hostage with a shotgun blast at a Sydney cafe before police storm the cafe and kill the dirtbag gunman. Paramedics carrying stretchers raced towards the cafe moments after a volley of loud bangs and stun grenade flashes. Central Sydney has been in lockdown since the gunman seized the hostages early on Monday morning. Early in the siege, hostages were forced to hold up a black Islamic banner at the window.
Mr Monis, who styles himself as a Muslim cleric, is currently on bail for being an accessory to the murder of his former wife and is facing more than 40 sexual and indecent assault charges. He has also been convicted of sending offensive letters to the families of deceased Australian soldiers. “His ideology is just so strong and so powerful that it clouds his vision for common sense and objectiveness,” his former lawyer, Manny Conditsis, said.
