FBI Investigation of Sarasota Saudi Family in 2002 Based on Info From Mosque Imam Muneer Arafat Who FBI paid $35,000 and a Private Investigator.
FBI agents who searched the Prestancia gatehouse in Sarasota found evidence in logbooks and snapshots of license plates that vehicles used by the 9/11 hijackers, including ringleader Mohamed Atta, had visited the Abdulaziz al-Hijji home. A law enforcement source said an analysis of phone calls to and from the home also found links to Mohamed Atta and former Broward County resident Adnan el-Shukrijumah, a fugitive and al-Qaeda leader with a $5 million bounty on his head. Documents from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement stated that a now imprisoned terrorist figure, Wissam Hammoud, told the FBI in 2004 that Abdulazizal-Hijji was an acolyte of Osama bin Laden who prior to 9/11 had introduced him to Al-Qaeda leader Adnanel-Shukrijumah at a soccer game at the Sarasota mosque, Islamic Society of Sarasota Bradenton 4350 N. Lockwood Ridge Rd where Muneer Arafat was the Imam. Al-Hijj was interviewed last year by the London Telegraph acknowledged knowing Wissam Hammoud, but denied any wrongdoing. The FBI never disclosed the existence of its 2002 Sarasota investigation to either Congress’s Joint Inquiry into the terror attacks or the subsequent 9/11 Commission, ex-Sen. Graham has said. Imam Muneer Arafat appears to have interaction in Sarasota Fl at his Mosque or the home of Abdulazizal-Hijji with terrorist Wissam Hammoud, al-Qaeda leader Adnan el-Shukrijumah and most likely al-Qaeda 9/11 Hijacker Mohamed Atta.
Muneer Arafat came to the Islamic Center of Sarasota and Bradenton Mosque in March of 2000 from the St Louis area, Mohamed Atta and other 9/11 Hijackers followed him to the Sarasota area in June of 2000. Sarasota Imam Muneer Arafat’s prior roommate in Columbia MO, Al-Qaeda agent Ziyad Khaleel, purchased and shipped a satellite phone for Osama bin Laden to be used in the 1998 US Embassy bombings in Africa. Sarasota Imam Muneer Arafat says during the Sami Al-Arian trial that Al-Arian tried to recruit him into a faction of Palestinian Islamic Jihad in 1988 but he was already a Islamic Jihad terror member with the Tamimi Faction. Muneer Arafat lied about being an US citizen, solicited funds for the Hamas terror organization, was arrested by the Feds in November 2002 in Sarasota and put in front of a St Louis Grand Jury investigating Terror Ties in the USA and worked for the FBI as a paid confidential informant on a used car scam in support of terrorism in Sarasota Fl during 2002 to 2004, a very busy boy who should have testified in front of the 9/11 Commission, but did not.
St Pete Times Published June 10, 2005 – The trial of Sami Al-Arian and his three co-defendants got lively when Sarasota Imam Muneer Arafat took the stand and offered a pithy sound bite for why he broke from Al-Arian and his supporters in 1988. “They are sending their kids to Duke University and Yale University from Tampa while they are sending someone else’s kids to do a suicide bombing.” Arafat said that in 1988, Al-Arian tried to recruit him into a faction of Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Defense attorney Moffitt asked Muneer Arafat about the $35,000 he received from the U.S. government in the past year and a half for “providing counseling for the FBI.” Arafat said he had spent months and months talking to a suspect in another case at the request of the FBI (in Sarasota Fl from 2002 to 2003), which collected much of the evidence in the Al-Arian case.
Muneer Arafat an imam at the Sarasota Bradenton Islamic Center Mosque till the end of 2003, Muneer Arafat told the jury that he met Al-Arian in December 1988 at a St. Louis conference of the Islamic Committee for Palestine, which Al-Arian had founded that same year. Arafat, a government witness, testified that Al-Arian asked him to join the Shiqaqi faction of PIJ, which the Islamic Committee for Palestine supported. But Arafat declined, he said, even though at the time he supported the intifada – which he described as “kids supporting the Palestinian army.” In the summer of 2002, according to Arafat’s testimony, he saw Al-Arian when he “came to Tampa to give condolences for the death of Al-Arian’s father.” Arafat said that Al-Arian said something at that meeting about “operations,” which Arafat believed, from experience, was code for “terror attacks” by the PIJ in Israel.
Before coming to the Islamic Society of Sarasota Bradenton 4350 N. Lockwood Ridge Rd Sarasota Fl in March of 2000, Muneer Arafat was the Imam at various Mosques in St. Louis. In St. Louis, from 1996 to 2000, Imam Muneer Arafat became a well-known lecturer at different Masjids and built up quite a following. He gave lectures at local mosques that almost exclusively focused on jihad week in and week out and this got him into trouble with Sheikh Muhammad Nur of the Islamic Foundation of Greater St. Louis who at one point banned him from giving lectures at the Gateway Masjid, he then shows up at the Sarasota Mosque in March of 2000 just prior to the 9/11 hijackers showing up in Sarasota county in June of 2000. Imam Muneer Arafat quotes “I’m not opposed to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s goal of destroying Israel and replacing it with an Islamic state”. “Muslims need to stay unified, and they should support the Palestinian uprising known as the intifada”.
