WTSP CHANNEL 10: Some say Tampa Bay is a hot bed of Terrorism. TAMPA, Florida — Although the Tampa Bay area has been fortunate in terms of terrorism, there are those who say the area is a hotbed of potential trouble. Clearly, former USF professor Sami Al-Arian was the most high-profile case involving charges of terrorist activities. Al-Arian, who was convicted and eventually deported, was the center of controversy for years. He formed the World Islamic Studies Enterprises, or WISE, in Temple Terrace not far from USF and then brought Ramadan Abdullah Shallah to the organization as well as the university. The FBI declared Shallah a terrorist, SEEhttp://host-126.96.36.199.gannett.com/news/article/231049/250/Some-say-Tampa-Bay-is-a-hot-bed-of-Terrorism
