Congressional Report Released July 24,2003
http://www.verumserum.com/media/2009/11/2003-San-Diego-Trib-Story-on-al-Awlaki.pdf The report detailed investigations of San Diego men by counterterrorism agents before or while the hijackers lived in San Diego. Those men, mentioned in the 832-page report, eventually became friends, helpers or employers of the two hijackers. Two of the men listed in the report are the owner and manager of a business that employed Nawaf Al-hazmi. The report indicated that one of the men, a Palestinian-born U.S. citizen who owns several businesses in the San Diego area, “cheered upon learning of the Sept. 11 attacks” and had been investigated by the FBI in 1991, 1994 and 1997 for associations with terrorist groups and threats against Israelis.
The men were not named in the report but Nawaf Al-hazmi worked briefly at Sam’s Star Mart gas station on Spring Street in La Mesa, which at the time was a Texaco franchise owned by Osama “Sam” Mustafa and managed by Ed Salamah. Also mentioned in the report was an unnamed Muslim cleric who became a spiritual adviser to Al-hazmi and al-Midhar. Anwar Al-Awlaki is the former leader of the Masjid Ar-Ribat al-Islami mosque on Saranac Street on the border of San Diego and La Mesa, which was attended regularly by the hijackers and their acquaintances.
Nawaf al-Hazmi was considered second-in-command to Mohamed Atta among the 19 suicide hijackers on Sept. 11. Along with his friend Khalid al-Mihdhar, Nawaf al-Hazmi was considered one of two veteran al-Qaeda operatives among the 19, he had fought and killed in Afghanistan and Bosnia, he was hard core Al-Qaeda. Nawaf al-Hamzi was aboard American Airlines Flight 77 when it crashed into the Pentagon on Sept. 11. What was Nawaf al-Hazmi doing working at “Sam’s Star Mart Texaco” washing cars for Osama Mustafa, what the hell?
ORIGINALLY POSTED..Wednesday, September 02, 2009 Tampa Fl Welcomes Osama “Sam” Mustafa he Employed 9/11 Hijacker in San Diego, His Pal Askia Muhammad Aquil Says the US was overreacting to Sept. 11. Osama “Sam” Mustafa is the only person to employ any of the 9/11 hijackers in the USA at his Sam’s Star Mart Texaco in San Diego CA, his Pal Askia Muhammad Aquil says the United States was overreacting to the Sept. 11 tragedies. Osama Mustafa is now a used car dealer in Tampa Fl and recently arrested on fraud and money laudenring charges, about time!
Ed Salamah aka Iyad Kreiwesh was investigated by the FBI. In January 2000, the brother of an unnamed, known al-Qaeda operative was under surveillance and was seen chatting with Salamah. The Los Angeles FBI office was investigating this operative, and it called Salamah about the person. Salamah refused to come to Los Angeles for an interview, and refused to give his home address to be interviewed there. Faced with a reluctant witness, the FBI dropped the matter.
Other Gas Station Employees at Sam’s Texaco Star Mart May Know of 9/11 Plot – Mohdar Abdullah, a friend of Alhazmi and Almihdhar, also works at the gas station around this time. He may have learned of the 9/11 plot as early as the spring of 2000 (see Early 2000). Additionally, according to one witness, Abdullah, Osama Awadallah, Omar Bakarbashat, and other gas station employees will appear to show foreknowledge of the 9/11 attacks one day before they take place.
FBI Informant Stays Silent – The hijackers are living with an FBI informant named Abdussattar Shaikh who is aware of their contact with at least Osama “Sam” Mustafa, and Ed Shaikh has given reports about Osama” Sam”Mustafa to the FBI in the past. However, Shaikh fails to tell the FBI about their contacts with him. The 9/11 Congressional Inquiry will later strongly imply that Salamah and Mustafa assisted the hijackers with the 9/11 plot.
CIA Missed Chances to Tackle al-Qaida By KATHERINE SHRADER Associated Press WriterAlthough 50 to 60 people read at least one CIA cable about two of the hijackers (9/11 Hijackers Nawaf Alhazmi and Khalid Almihdhar in San Diego) , the information wasn’t shared with the proper offices and agencies. “That so many individuals failed to act in this case reflects a systemic breakdown…. Basically, there was no coherent, functioning watch-listing program,” the report said. The report again called for further review of Black and his predecessor.

FROM the 9/11 CommissionOn April 3 1999, Nawaf al Hazmi applied for a B-1/B-2 (tourist/business) visa in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, submitting a written visa application, his passport, and a photograph. Hazmi was a Saudi citizen born August 9, 1976.3 Hazmi’s passport was new–issued on March 21, 1999, and it contained an indicator of extremism that has been associated with al Qaeda. Hazmi’s visa was issued on April 3, 1999. Mihdhar’s visa was issued on April 7, 1999. Both were one-year, multiple-entry visas with stated address’s in the USA. Nawaf al Hazmi mainly associated with Mohdar Abdullah (deported, he claimed prior knowledge of the 9/11 attacks ) at the Rabat mosque and both worked at Sam’s Star Mart in La Mesa CA.
Al-Aqsa Cafe By BILL COATS Published December 8, 2005….All over Tampa Bay, word of Sami Al-Arian’s acquittals spread from Muslim to Muslim. The cell phone of Osama “Sam” Mustafa, a Palestinian-American from Riverview, chimed with the news at the Al-Aqsa Coffee House in Temple Terrace, (10805 N56th St) where Mustafa was enjoying the flavored smoke of a “hookah” water pipe. “He was the symbol of the Palestinian community here,” Osama Mustafa said. “We can hold our heads up high now.” (The 9/11 Congressional Inquiry strongly implies that Salamah and Osama “Sam” Mustafa assisted the hijackers with the 9/11 plot, but the FBI appears uninterested in them and maintains that the hijackers received no assistance from anyone). “A lot of people I saw yesterday, they were very patriotic,” said Ahmed Bedier, (who was the) local director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. “It was kind of a turning point in the community.” Mohammad Sultan is director and imam of the Islamic Society of the Tampa Bay Area mosque in Temple Terrace. Sultan was teaching Arabic to children Tuesday when he got a call on the verdicts.
Askia Muhammad Aquil, a Muslim leader in St. Petersburg, was attending a meeting in San Francisco when he heard about the Al-Arian verdict. He learned about it through e-mails from Bedier, then on television news, then in a phone call from his wife.Askia Muhammad Aquil from the late 1960s through the mid-1970s, was a black militant, a drug kingpin, an agitator. He founded the Black Youth for Peace and Power, organized boycotts, protested police harassment, demanded black studies courses at the University of South Florida. Federal authorities (FBI) kept a file on him.
Local Pinellas County Sheriff’s department have arrested him, see AGGRAVATED BATTERY 4/13/2008 , although he never was convicted, so far. Askia Muhammad Aquil said local Muslims, dispirited in the belief that the United States was overreacting to the Sept. 11 tragedies, should get a boost from the verdicts. But Aquil, executive director of St. Petersburg Neighborhood Housing Services (fired in 2008), said relations damaged by the terrorist attacks already had improved markedly. Like Mustafa, Aquil was interviewed by the FBI as part of a government response to Sept. 11.
