Cops looking for black male arsonist, between 25 and 30 years old, about 5-foot-8 and weighing 200 pounds, see photo above. Cops said the black male arsonist fled the scene in a light-colored, four-door sedan with a sunroof.
January 1st, 2012, NYPD cops today released surveillance video of the suspect in a co-ordinated string of possible bias-related firebombings in Queens on New Year’s Day and announced $12,000 in reward money for information leading to his arrest and conviction.
One clip shows the arsonist, see his photo above, tossing a lit Molotov cocktail that spilled its flaming contents onto the lawn in front of a home at 88-20 170th St. that also houses a Hindu temple.
Cops say the firebug is also behind similar attacks that took place at the Al-Khoei Benevolent Foundation Islamic center (Shia), the 179th Street Deli and a home at 146-62 107th Ave. All of the incidents took place between about 8 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. Sunday.
No one was injured, but the 107th Avenue home caught fire and was badly damaged. Nassau County police are also investigating a similar incident in which a bottle filled with gasoline was thrown at a house on Glafil Street in Elmont around 9:40 p.m. Sunday.
CAIR called on police and Muslim institutions to step up security measures around mosques. It recently called on the FBI to investigate threats targeting mosques posted on an anti-Islam blog, (Bare Naked Islam), spokesman Ibrahim Hooper said.
“Newsflash for the Media and CAIR, black males between the ages of 25 and 30 years old involved in street violence are not avid readers or followers of white conservative blogs or websites, this black male arsonist is not a Rush Limbaugh fan”.
MUSLIM SUNNI ON SHIA VIOLENCE; There is nothing new about the conflict between Sunni and Shia Muslims, see article below about recent bombings in Baghdad Shia neighborhoods.
December 27th, 2011…..An al-Qaeda front group in Iraq has claimed responsibility for the wave of bomb attacks that ripped through markets, cafes and government buildings in Baghdad on a single day last week, killing 69 people and raising new fears about security.
The co-ordinated attacks hit a dozen mostly Shia neighbourhoods on Thursday in what was the first major bloodshed since US troops completed a full withdrawal this month after nearly nine years of war.
The blasts also coincided with a government crisis that has again strained ties between Iraq’s Sunnis and Shias to breaking point – the same faultline that nearly pushed Iraq into all-out civil war several years ago.
