On October 13, 1968, two women, Clyda Jean Dulaney and Nancy Warren were found beaten and strangled to death on Highway 101 near Ukiah, California. One, Nancy Warren, was the pregnant wife of a highway patrol officer. The other victim, Clyda Delaney, was Warren’s 64-year-old grandmother.
The murders were ritualistic in nature (like the Sharon Tate murder), with 36 leather thongs wrapped around each victim’s throat, several members of the Manson “family” including Charles Manson and two others later convicted of unrelated murders were visiting Ukiah at the time. Susan Atkins aka Sadie Mae Glutz had been arrested in nearby Boonville along with 6 other Manson family thugs on drug charges June 22nd 1968.

Were enforcer Bruce Davis and other members of the Manson Family responsible for the Zodiac Murders? Susan Atkins aka Sadie Mae Glutz had been arrested in Boonville CA (in the middle of nowhere see map CLICK HERE) on June 22nd 1968 on drug charges she was placed on probation but violated and then ended up doing 90 days in the Mendocino County Jail, that would indicate that she was in the area up till the end of October 1968 along with her Manson Family pals who came to see her. The murder of the two women on Highway 101 near Ukiah CA took place on October 13th, 1968.
Two months later, on December 30 1968, 17-year-old Marina Habe was abducted outside her West Hollywood CA home, her body recovered on New Year’s Day, with multiple stab wounds in the neck and chest. Investigators learned that Habe was friendly with various “family” members, and police believe her ties with the Manson group led directly to her death.

The Zodiac killer was last seen the night of October 11th, 1969 when he killed Paul Stine in San Francisco which is 137 miles south of Ukiah CA on Highway 101, see map CLICK HERE. Twenty-nine year old Paul Stine was a husband, student and cabdriver until he picked up the Zodiac on the night of October 11, 1969. Stine drove his passenger to a destination in the wealthy San Francisco neighborhood of Presidio Heights, named for the large military base located two blocks north of its border. For his trouble, Stine received a bullet to his skull.
In the month between July 27 and August 26, 1969, Manson’s tribe slaughtered at least nine people in Southern California. Musician Gary Hinman was the first to die, hacked to death in retaliation for a drug deal gone sour, “political” graffiti scrawled at the scene in his blood, as Manson tried to blame the crime on blackie with “Helter Skelter” and start race riots.
On August 9, 1969 a Manson hit team raided the home of movie director Roman Polanski, slaughtering Polanski’s wife – 8 month pregnant actress Sharon Tate – and four of her guests: Abigail Folger, Jay Sebring, Voytek Frykowski, and Steven Parent. The following night, Manson’s “creepy crawlers” killed and mutilated another couple, Leno and Rosemary LaBianca, in their Los Angeles home.

Sharon Tate, 8 months pregnant at the time, was strangled with a rope and then the film star was stabbed in a ‘ritualistic’ killing. Police said that Sharon Tate probably died ofthe stab wounds. Some of the five bodies had been mutilated, with blood smeared everywhere and the word “Pig” scrawled on the front door in blood. Police said the phone and electricity lines had been cut. The following night, on Aug. 10, the knife-slashed bodies of Mr. and Mrs. Leno A. LaBianca were found in their home in Los Angeles. The grisly scene was similar in respects to that at the Sharon Tate home.
In January 1971, Charles Manson and three of his followers – Susan Atkins aka Sadie Mae Glutz, 22, Patricia Krenwinkel, 23 and Leslie Van Houten, 21 – were convicted of the Tate-LaBianca murders, after the longest murder trial in US history.
Is there a connection between the notorious Zodiac crimes and the brutal, bizarre slayings attributed to the so-called “Manson family.” Official documents reveal that investigators assigned to the Zodiac case had entertained the notion of a possible connection immediately after the arrest of career criminal Charles Manson and his murderous minions in late 1969. Manson’s followers had used the blood of their victims to leave frightening messages at the crime scenes, including the now-famous words, Healter Skelter.
The Zodiac had used a black marker to write a message on a car door after stabbing two college-coeds. This behavior and the seemingly inexplicable nature of both crime sprees led investigators to wonder if the mesmerizing Manson had also masterminded the Zodiac murders.
