Surveillance photos and video show Brotherton and a man in black clothing at the Beneva Village Bank of America ATM at 11:49 p.m. James Brotherton was shot about four minutes later at Curtiss Avenue and Gulf Gate Drive in front of the Gulf Gate Library Sarasota Fl and his body was found there at 12:30 a.m., by a deputy on routine patrol. Mr. Brotherton’s vehicle was located near Stickney Point Road and Gateway Drive around 5:20 a.m., this is the main entrance way to the Gulf Gate Bar District.
The level of the over the top violence in shooting and killing Mr. Brotherton in what was basically an Attempted Armed Robbery (no cash obtained) indicates the shooter most likely has violent priors and possibly an active warrant, your looking for a Sociopath. Look at the attached video CLICK HERE.
Time for a hard target search for this Sociopath Killer who is on the run in the Sarasota Gulf Gate area, he is obviously armed and will not hesitate to kill again.
The shooter is wearing an unusual light yellow Camouflage Bucket Hat, see photo above, while every other guy in Florida wears a baseball cap.
From the location of where Mr. Brotherton’s car was found, Stickney Point Road and Gateway Drive Sarasota, it appears that the shooter could have been in the Gulf Gate Bar district which also includes “Hooters” as the shooter drove Mr Brotherton’s car back to this area and then dumped it.
The Gulf Gate Library, the Beneva Bank of America ATM and the Gulf Gate Bar district are all in the same general area as to where Mr. Brotherton’s car was found, the shooter appears to know the area, he could live somewhere near the Gulf Gate Bar district.
The dead man could have been any middle aged Sarasota guy in the very popular Gulf Gate district, cops need to catch the shooter, this was a cold, premeditated murder for nothing, no cash was obtained, whose next ?
