Imam Muneer Arafat moved to the South Gate Ridge Sarasota Fl area in March 2000 just 3 months before three 9/1 hijackers led by Mohamed Atta show up in Nokomis Fl just 10 miles south for pilot training. Imam Muneer Arafat’s vehicle was photographed at variuos apartments on Clark Rd near Beneva Rd and at a single family residence on Beneva Rd near Clark Rd all in the center of South Gate Ridge Sarasota Fl.
SARASOTA HERALD TRIBUNE, Dec 31, 2005….The new Islamic center mosque in SARASOTA … will be no more than 40 feet tall including its dome, said Hytham Bakr, whose Sarasota engineering firm, The Bakr Group, is the mosque’s project management firm… Originally, the Sarasota mosque’s leaders submitted plans to Sarasota County for a 62-foot tall building, including dome, and two 85-feet minarets (that’s eight stories high), Bakr said. But Sarasota County ruled that the building too greatly exceeded the county’s height restriction of 35 feet and approved a maximum height of 40 feet… Asked by mosque officials to look into possible violations of the law because of the height denial, the U.S. Department of Justice in February ruled that Sarasota County did not violate the law in restricting the height of the dome and minarets.”
Imam Muneer Arafat’s former mosque in Sarasota raised money for martyrs families – hosted terrorists Sami Al Arian, Mazen Al Najjar and Hussam Jubara. Muneer Arafat, revealed in court that he declined Sami Al Arian’s invitation to join Palestinian Islamic Jihad because he was a member of a different group ! “Which begs the question as to why Muneer Arafat’s former mosque – the Islamic Society of Sarasota and Brandenton (ISSB) -hosted Sami Al Arian“, and the his now terrorist deported brother in law Mazen Al Najjar if Arafat had the ideological differences with the PIJ as he claimed in court. Given the fact that Al Arian’s lawyer read a litany of muneer Arafat’s false statements to authorities and documented lies, one must surmise that Muneer Arafat’s claim of non membership in the PIJ is truth as he sees it. His response to Al Arian attorney William Moffitt is a classic of Islamist dissembling.

Three months after Mazin al-Najjar spoke at ISSB, where Muneer Arafat was the Imam at the Islamic Society of Sarasota and Bradenton (ISSB) Mosque, he was arrested and linked to terrorism. Dept. of Justice SATURDAY, November 24th, 2001, Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) arrested Mazen Al Najjar, in Tampa, Florida. The arrest is based on a final order of deportation recently upheld by the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, in Atlanta, Georgia. Mazen Al Najjar was ordered deported because he violated his visa. Mazen Al Najjar, photo above, also had established ties to terrorist organizations and held leadership positions in the Tampa-based Islamic Concern Project (ICP) and the World and Islam Studies Enterprise. The ICP and the World and Islam Studies Enterprise are front organizations that raised funds for militant Islamic-Palestinian groups such as the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and Hamas. The PIJ, designated by the US Secretary of State as a terrorist organization.
Under cross-examination by Al-Arian’s attorney, William Moffitt, Muneer Arafat admitting lying in the past on resumes, job applications and a voter registration form. He has falsely claimed to be an American citizen, and was deported at one point for overstaying his visa. He also acknowledged he was detained by immigration officials in Sarasota in November 2002, he was also arrested by the Sarasota Sheriff’s Dept in May of 2003, see booking photo above.
Muneer Arafat also testified that the government has paid him a total of $35,000 since June of 2003 to cooperate with them in an investigation of Muslim Used cars dealers sending vehicles to the Middle East in support of terrorism. Muneer Arafat denied being paid for cooperating in the Al-Arian case but said he asked the government to help his wife get a work permit. “There are people who lie worse than that,” Arafat told Moffitt as the attorney was chronicling his deceptions through the years. Muneer Arafat’s claim that he rejected Al Arian’s attempts to recruit him into his PIJ terrorist group appear even more questionable in light of the fact that his mosque, the Islamic Society of Sarasota and Brandenton, actively raised money for ‘Al Aqsa martyrs families’.
Sarasota Imam Muneer Arafat and roommate Ziyad Sadaqa aka Ziyad Khaleel had also been fund raisers for Hamas through the Holy Land Relief Foundation in Texas, busy boys. Law Enforcement Sensitive, Ziyad Khaleel aka Ziyad Sadaqa and roommate of Sarasota Imam Muneer Arafat is verified as a procurement agent of Osama Bin Laden, why did Muneer Arafat get a pass.
Muneer Arafat was the Imam at the Islamic Society of Sarasota and Bradenton (ISSB) Mosque from March 2000 to the end of 2003, he showed up just prior to Mohamed Atta and the rest of the 9/11 terrorists in nearby Nokomis Fl. Imam Muneer Arafat quotes “I’m not opposed to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s goal of destroying Israel and replacing it with an Islamic state”. “Muslims need to stay unified, and they should support the Palestinian uprising known as the intifada”.
A notice to the ISSB congregants states “that they had raised ‘$4,000 for the families of the martyrs of Al Aqsa and that a brother would be bring the money to the West Bank’. The connection of Al Arian, and Al Najjar to the ISSB raises the possiblility that the ‘martyrs families’ receiving the money from Arafat’s Sarasota mosque were those who had carried out suicide bombings on behalf of the PIJ. In its January 2001 edition of the ISSB monthly newsletter THE FAITH, under the title ‘Aqsa Victims (2),’ it is written: “The second payment of donations for Aqsa victims were sent [sic] the martyrs families and needy in the West Bank in Palestine. Alhamdullah we managed to send $4,000 by one of our dedicated brothers.”
Eight months later Muslim extremists hijacked four passenger planes on Sept. 11, 2001, crashing them into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a field in Shanksville, Pa., “THREE OF THE FOUR 9/11 HIJACK PILOTS LIVED AND TRAINED IN THE SARASOTA FL AREA PRIOR TO THE 9/11 ATTACK”. Let’s get real here, the Sarasota Fl area was the base of operations for 9/11 Al-Qaeda Hijack Pilots Mohamed Atta, Marwan al-Shehhi and Ziad Jarrah, they had a support network entrenched in the area when Al-Qaeda linked Imam Muneer Arafat shows up at the Sarasota-Bradenton Islamic Center (Mosque) in March 2000 just 3 months before the Hijackers show up in the Sarasota area in June of 2000.
